From Rev. Larry Young: Jesus tells us that nothing has higher priority than what God wants for the world. But what does that mean for us as we look to a post-pandemic era? Already life seems so different from what it was—and that includes life in the church. We are being called to rethink what it means to live as Jesus’ disciples individually, and what it means for us as church. I hope you’ll be present, either in person or online, as we think together along these lines on Sunday.

The Children, Youth & Family Collaborative Walkathon was a blast last Saturday! Thankful for our team of First UMC and the CYFC Staff, volunteers, and supporters for passionately supporting children in foster care and other at-risk youth.

The second session for our Summer Zoom Bible Study, Faithful & Inclusive, meets tonight and will focus on scripture from the Old Testament. If you’ve ever struggled knowing what to do with some of the Biblical texts used in conversations around full inclusion of LGBTQ people, this is the class for you. ALL AGES are welcome and each is a stand-alone session.

Volunteer Opportunity! The Westside Coalition for Housing, Hunger and Health is collaborating with the City of Santa Monica, United Way, Labor Community Services, and LA Food Bank to do a large-scale food distribution on Saturday, June 25 at the Santa Monica Airport, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Volunteers should arrive early, at 7:45 a.m.🍎❤
