Children’s Church is a space for children to learn about God and God’s loving activity in the world through music and movement, fun and laughter with the leadership of Janet Searfoss. We gather in worship and after the Children’s Message, the children are guided to the Chapel as we create a worship space geared for them.
Curriculum & Bibles!
Our new Curriculum, Deep Blue Adventures, goes with the Deep Blue Bibles so that our children enter into a journey that combines exciting stories, arts and crafts, and interactive games into a living-faith experience that will help them discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ today.
5th Sundays: Faith in Action Held in Room 203.
Parents pick your children up in Room 203.
Faith is more than a belief, it is an action. On every 5th Sunday of the month, the youth and children of First UMC put their Faith in Action, by working together during Sunday School to perform a gracious act of service. The project rotates between service for the church family, the local community, and our global community, as we learn what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ serving in the world.
Children remain with their families for congregational worship for there is no Sunday school. Worship packets for children can be found with the ushers. Family Sundays usually occur around major holidays, such as Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving.
Kids Zone, Narthex
Little one getting squirmy during worship? The Kids Zone is an area for families where you will be able to hear and see the service from the narthex, just outside of the sanctuary. Look for Kids Zone signs. Ushers are available for assistance.
After service, stay for refreshments and fellowship in the Courtyard or Simkins Hall.
A changing table is available in the restroom across the hall from the Fireside Room kitchen. High chairs are also available.
