UMW Name Change (June 2022)
Have UNITED METHODIST WOMEN changed ?
No – But the United Methodist Women have a new name:
UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH.
Our local unit here at First UMC is proud to continue the tradition of supporting our high school seniors graduating this year for Scholarship Sunday and we will join in the Sanctuary as all scholarship recipients are recognized.

Giving Thanks for the United Methodist Women (Dec 2020)
For the first time since the early 70s, and due to the current Covid restrictions, the UMW Christmas Bazaar has been put on hold for this year. For decades we’ve enjoyed their home baked goods, casseroles, peanut brittle and handmade crafts. We’ll certainly miss the fun this year. Fortunately, the women are graciously sharing their delicious Peanut Brittle recipe for us to make over the holidays! We look forward to celebrating the holidays in person next year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the UMW. Enjoy!
The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world such has Hanhane Women’s Shelter in Mozambique.
