New! September 2026: Saturday In-Person and Livestreamed Recitals
First UMC of Santa Monica is excited to announce the return of our in-person recital series! Presented by Dr. James E. Smith, First UMC Music Director, these free recitals take place one Saturday each month at 1 p.m., with doors opening at 12:45 p.m. A reception follows.

During Lent – 10 a.m. Sanctuary Worship Service
A beautiful and moving annual service of Lessons and Anthems. This is a solemn service, designed to prepare our hearts and minds for Holy Week. In word and music, we will remember the last days of Jesus’ life–his witness, his teaching, his faithfulness.
