First UMC Christmas Concert
First UMC’s Music Ministry Director Dr. James E. Smith conducts A Christmas Celebration, featuring In Terra Pax by Gerald Finzi, and Magnificat, but Franz Schubert, for Choir and Chamber Orchestra, and the annual An Evening of Carols, Etc. with audience participation. Ty Woodward, organist, will be joined by the Mark Twain Ringers directed by Ron Theile, and spoken words will be read by Rev. Patricia Farris. Suggested donation at the door is $10, seniors and children under 12, $5. Don’t miss this yearly event which, for many, sets the mood for the coming Christmas season.
*For those who can’t attend Sunday night, you may observe the Concert rehearsal Saturday morning (December 7) at 9 a.m. at no charge. Carols and readings rehearsal begins at 11 a.m. Out of courtesy to the musicians please no cell phones; families with babies/small children may listen from the Narthex.

Chancel Choir – Dr. James Smith, Director
Meets at 7:40 p.m. on Thursdays (with a break during the Summer). The Chancel Choir provides music every Sunday during the 10 a.m. Sanctuary Worship Service and presents major concerts in December and in the Spring.
Amadeus Handbell Choir – Mary Crawford, Director

Children’s Music – 3rd Sundays during Sunday School
On every third Sunday of the month during Sunday School, the children gather for a time for song and movement as they explore what the heart of worship is all about. The children practice in preparation for special Sundays such as Children’s Sabbath, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday and other events.
Children’s Church– Janet Searfoss, Director
Children’s Church provides our Elementary (K-5) aged participants with the opportunity to explore God’s love through music, singing and movement, as we explore basic choral fundamentals for singing as a choir. This choir practices in the Chapel on the third Sunday of the month.
Cherub Voices- Jamie Jones, Director
Cherub Voices is a place for our youngest disciples to learn about God’s love through music, singing and handbells. It is open to children in preschool and practices in Room 205 on the third Sunday of the month.
